my travels
When I was about to be a senior in high school and I went on a trip to Utah. Now first and foremost we drove to Utah. This was my second year with this group as last year we had driven to New York. I was even more excited this year in the hopes I would not get sick, unlike the year before. out of the whole trip one is stood out the most. This place would be known as Arches national park. It is to this day one of my favorite places I have ever visited. We would visit this park on my seventeenth birthday. the most vivid as well as the most memorable event that took place would be that evening. we had just finished walking up the many sandhills within that park and had made it back to the entrance. we had decided to take a break before getting in the car to head back to the place we were staying at. We had all laid down and looked up. It had turned to nightfall. the park itself was not near a city and had not been polluted by such air. The clean air revealed the night sky. One could see all around the sky clearly, millions and millions of stars above us. It calmed me. It was probably the last time for years I have felt this calm and at peace. Eventually, we had to leave. Although to this day I think of that night a lot. It reminds me that there is a reason we are all here.
